L’Armée de Sambre et Meuse est à Huy. Le Commissaire des Guerres Roze demande au administrateurs de la ville d’Huy de vider l’église St. Pierre, pour y faire un magasin de fourrage. Ceci dans le délai fixé, sous peine d’éxécution militaire!
Lettre du 26 aout 1794.. A noter que le 26 aout 1794 ~ 1 mois apres le bouleversement de Robespierre et ses complices le 9 Thermidor.
Il est à noter que durant la RÉVOLUTION, les édifices religieux, furent mis hors d’état de servir ….servant souvent à stocker le blé, les cloches sont fondues pour faire de la monnaie et des canons, et les cordes attribuées aux convois militaires.
