This is a museum quality vintage Navajo turquoise silver squash blossom necklace. This outstanding necklace contains 13 phenomenal large and chunky Blue Gem turquoise stones. The largest turquoise stone measures a stunning 1" X 5/8". What I absolutely love are the surrounding graduating silver raindrops that are on the squashes and naja pendant. The bottom impeccable large double silver shank naja pendant measures around 3-1/4" X 3-1/8". Resting throughout the rest of the necklace are mind blowing lrage round silver beads with a traditional silver clasp. Blue Gem turquoise is a specific type of turquoise gemstone that is highly sought after for its intense blue color and black matrix patterns. It is found in the southwestern United States, particularly in Nevada and Arizona, and is considered to be some of the finest turquoise in the world. Blue Gem turquoise was first discovered in the 1940s in the Royston mining district of Nevada, and quickly gained a reputation for its beauty and rarity. The turquoise is typically a bright blue color with a black spiderweb matrix pattern, although some specimens may also feature a brown or golden matrix. Blue Gem turquoise is a popular choice for use in jewelry, particularly in Native American and Southwestern-style designs. It is also used for inlay work, carvings, and other decorative objects. However, due to its rarity and high demand, Blue Gem turquoise can be quite expensive and is often considered a collector's item. Sterling silver. Cir. 1970's+. Signed by Navajo artist, BCC.
