Here we have an exceptional Navajo silver necklace. This magnificent silver bead and USA coin necklace likens to the incredible traditional Native American squash blossom necklace! The "blossoms" are the eight(!) half dollars set at the sides - ranging in years 1936 - 1942! And then we have the jaw-dropping 3-3/8" x 3-5/8" double-railed Naja, with the 1881 silver dollar at the crown! The sides are in perfect balance with a half dollar and two Mercury dimes at each side! An absolutely spectacular piece! A squash blossom necklace is a distinctive and beautiful piece of jewelry that has its origins in Native American culture. It is a traditional and iconic piece of Native American jewelry that has also become popular in the mainstream fashion world. The name "squash blossom" comes from the shape of the blossoms, which resemble the flowers of squash or melon plants.
