This is a tremendous vintage Zuni silver pendant. Such a cool pendant! The Zia sun symbol, with its four directions of sunrays is featured on the State flag of New Mexico - The Land of Enchantment! The "sunface" in the center of this stunning pendant is created of inlay stones of turquoise, coral, mother of pearl and jet! The Zia Sun Symbol represents the sacred number four, which holds profound meaning to the Zia people. It embodies the four cardinal directions (north, south, east, west), the four seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter), the four times of day (morning, noon, evening, night), and the four stages of life (childhood, youth, adulthood, old age). This emphasis on four reflects the tribe's deep connection to the natural world and the cyclical nature of life. Sterling silver. The pendant measures around 1" x 7/8". Sturdy 4 grams.
