This is an impressive vintage Navajo unique Thomas Singer silver multiple stone necklace. Thomas Singer is a well-known Navajo artist who is known for his beautiful jewelry pieces that incorporate traditional Navajo techniques and designs. He was born in 1940 in Winslow, Arizona, and grew up in a family of artists, including his father, Tom Singer, who was also a silversmith. Thomas Singer began his career as a jewelry artist in the 1960s, and his hallmark, "T. Singer," can be found on many of his pieces. He is known for his use of intricate designs, stampwork, and high-quality stones, such as turquoise and coral, in his jewelry. In addition to his work as a jewelry artist, Thomas Singer is also a painter and sculptor. His art is inspired by his Navajo heritage and often features traditional Navajo themes and symbols, such as the Navajo Holy People and the four cardinal directions. Thomas Singer's work is highly sought after by collectors and has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. He has won numerous awards for his art, including the Best in Show award at the Santa Fe Indian Market in 1980 and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts in 2018. This remarkable necklace includes a bottom unique shaped silver pendant that includes a center Sleeping Beauty turquoise mine. The pendant measures around 2-3/4" X 1-1/4" including the silver bail. This wonderful necklace contains multiple stones and shells that includes disc shaped turquoise stones, onyx, sugulite, and spiny oyster shells. Situated throughout the stones are beautiful silver tubule beads with accenting silver flower beads, end silver cones and a traditional silver clasp. What I also love about this necklace is that Thomas signed in two places, one being on the pendant and the other being on a tag near the clasp. Sterling silver, marked. Cir. 1960's+. Signed by Navajo artist, Thomas Singer. The length of the necklace measures around 25". Sturdy 107 grams.
