View of buildings of military camp at Valdahon in the Doubs region of France. Valdahon was an American Field Artillery training camp, where troops were issued 75-mm guns and 155-mm howitzers, and received technical instruction in their operation.

Le camp du Valdahon est un camp militaire français situé à Valdahon dans le département du Doubs.
Lorsque les Américains entrèrent dans la guerre en 1917, ils ne disposaient tout au plus que de 200 000 hommes et 150 000 de la Garde Nationale. Il leur fallut donc trouver beaucoup de soldats (par le volontariat et la conscription) pour arriver à un effectif de 2 000 000 d’hommes. Arrivés en France ils durent être les formés. Dans ce cadre là, c’est au camp du Valdahon que furent confiée, une partie de la formation des artilleurs (5 artilleries divisionnaires). Il s’agissait de compléter celle déja reçue aux USA
