Two nice images depicting stories from Old Testament, Genesis XV. This is from the so called "Great Bible" of Pieter Mortier. The works of art in this volume are found in many later, lesser Bibles and Bible histories.

Pieter Mortier (1661–1711) was an 18th-century mapmaker and engraver from the Northern Netherlands.b  Mortier was born in Leiden. According to Houbraken, David van der Plas worked with him on etchings for Bybelsche Tafereelen (Bible stories), published in Amsterdam in 1700.

He traveled to Paris in 1681-1685 and won the privilege in 1690 of publishing maps and atlases by French publishers in Amsterdam. He used this privilege to win a similar set of privileges for printing an "illustrated print bible" in 1700.

GOEREE, Jan (1670 - 1731), Draughtsman, engraver, illustrator. Born 20 October 1670, in Middelburg; died 4 January 1731, in Amsterdam. Religious subjects, allegorical subjects. Jan Goeree was a pupil of Gerard de Lairesse in Amsterdam. The son of an antique dealer, he is recorded as working at the town hall in Amsterdam in 1715.

BLOIS, ABRAHAM DE, a Dutch engraver, of little note, who lived about 1700. He executed part of the plates of a work entitled Figures de la Bible, from designs by Picart and others, published at Amsterdam in 1720; also many other plates for the booksellers.
