The Most Intricate Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace
This is a museum quality Navajo very intricately inlaid shell pendant necklace. This wonderful necklace contains five outstanding very large intricately channel inlaid shells with the largest bottom shell measuring a whopping 3-1/4" X 3-1/4", WOW! The inlay on the shells include mother of pearl, onyx, Royston turquoise, Sleeping Beauty turquoise, lapis, spiny oyster shells, gaspeite, and sugulite. The amount of inlaid stones and shells on the the shell pendant is just outstanding. What I really love about this necklace is that located in the center of each shell is a protruding chunky Morenci turquoise stone with a marvelous channeled silver bezel. The largest turquoise stone measures around 1" X 1/2". Resting throughout the necklace is a thick and sturdy handmade silver link chain with a traditional silver clasp. Sterling silver. Cir. 1980's+. Artist Bryan Tom who developed a special glue that attaches sterling silver to shell, very important. The length of the necklace measures around 29". Sturdy 250 grams.
