Lewis’s of Liverpool was a famous department store of the time.
The International Exhibition of Navigation, Commerce and Industry in Liverpool, England - was opened by Queen Victoria on 11 May 1886. Portrait and 14 photographs. The photographs show the most representative places of this city.

Undated but research provided year.
Condition is rough to good. Complete. Most pictures have a bit of image rubbed off (water damage?). The last picture + inside back cover has some red ink transfer, picture also rough along top edge. Also, binding on back page bit beat up (see pictures). Other pictures (4), fine+.

David Lewis opened his first small store on Ranelagh Street, Liverpool in 1856. It was a small, glass-fronted shop . It expanded piece by piece between 1910-12 into much larger premises, which were gutted by fire in 1888.
